FAQs

QUESTION:  What is the class structure/format? Is it full-time Monday through Friday? How many times will we meet face to face?

ANSWER:   The courses are 8 weeks each and participants take two courses at a time.  The classes are not full time Monday through Friday as some participants may have full time jobs.  During each 8-week term, the students meet face to face in Newport News on two Fridays and Saturdays (consecutive).  For example, the first course starts August 3-4 (week 1) and that is the first face to face meeting.  Students will meet face to face again September 21-22 (week 8).  Both Fridays and Saturdays are 8 hours of class time, with a lunch break on your own.  Class work is online, and there may be evening digital teleconferences with the professors which will be worked out with the students.  There is some asynchronous work that the students do in between.  There is usually a week break between the end of a session and the beginning of the next.
